Did you know that thyroid cancer is now the #1 cancer in incidence in young women in Canada, yet it also has the lowest number of research dollars allocated to it?
Did you know that thyroid cancer has the widest range of possible outcomes? For example, if you are a young woman with Papillary disease, your prognosis is excellent (near 100% cure rate). However, for the few who are diagnosed with Anaplastic each year, the outcome is nearly the opposite.
Did you know that thyroid cancer has a high rate of recurrence, is associated with a high rate of financial bankruptcy, and there is no means of prevention?

Thyroid Cancer Questionnaire
In March of 2010, an international survey was completed of thyroid cancer patients. 2,398 patients
participated in the Thyroid Cancer Experience Questionnaire and the results were very enlightening. The newly formed Thyroid Cancer Alliance conducted the survey. A summary of the highlights of the survey were given at the International Thyroid Cancer conference in Paris, September 11, 2010.
