Terry Thompson

I was my late husband's caregiver when I found out that I had thyroid cancer. This was in 2007 and I was only 42 years old. I was under a tremendous amount of stress at the time and I truly believed that was what triggered my cancer.

I had a nodule for 8 years prior to my diagnosis and was told it would never become cancerous. I was operated on twice in the same month and then treated with the radioactive iodine.

I'm happily married now to a wonderful man and I'm in good health. I'm celebrating 10 years cancer-free this year and hope to have many more wonderful anniversaries.
